Creativity and inspiration are integral components of effective problem-solving across various fields. This paper examines the role of inspiration in creative problem-solving from a psychological perspective, exploring how inspiration contributes to the generation of novel and useful solutions. By defining key concepts, such as creativity and inspiration, and analyzing their psychological underpinnings, this paper delves into the cognitive, emotional, and motivational processes involved. It highlights the significance of associative thinking, the activation of neural networks, and the influence of positive emotions in fostering inspiration. The paper also outlines the stages of the creative process—preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification—emphasizing how inspiration interplays with each stage. Furthermore, strategies to facilitate inspiration in various settings are discussed, including creating inspiring environments, encouraging mindfulness and mind-wandering, promoting positive emotions, and cultivating intrinsic motivation. Understanding the psychological mechanisms behind inspiration not only enhances creativity but also enriches individuals' experiences and contributes to their overall well-being.
