Abstract

The purpose of this research paper is to explore the biological foundations of behavior and mental processes, focusing on the role of brain structures, neurotransmitters, and genetic factors. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature, incorporating findings from neuroscientific studies, genetic research, and psychological assessments, this paper aims to elucidate the interaction of these biological components in influencing psychological functions and behaviors. Analysis of data obtained from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG), and positron emission tomography (PET) scans, as well as studies on neurotransmitter functions and genetic influences, reveals significant relationships between specific brain regions such as the prefrontal cortex, amygdala, and hippocampus, and various cognitive and emotional processes.
