This research paper examines the efficacy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in treating anxiety and depression. Anxiety and depression are prevalent mental health disorders that significantly impact individuals' quality of life. CBT is a structured, time-limited psychotherapy that aims to change maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors. This study involves a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and clinical studies published over the last two decades. The findings indicate that CBT is highly effective in reducing symptoms of both anxiety and depression. Compared to other therapeutic modalities, CBT consistently shows greater improvements in symptom severity and overall functioning. The results suggest that CBT not only offers immediate relief but also has lasting effects, with improvements maintained at follow-up assessments.
